Day One: Zurich to Splugen via Chur

Roll out:
St Gallen for the brat and roll
Chur – up Arosastrasse to Maladers – chatted up the locals at Restaurant zur alten Post
Onwards to Splügen for the night
Splügen is a tiny village, all self-sustained. Dairy and produce all produced locally, and not only feed the small populace, but stock the hotel’s kitchen as well. All help lives in the hotel.

Dia de los Motos (Day 7) - 165 miles

Last Day.

This was the last leg of the journey, from Glenwood Springs back to Denver, where the bike was dropped off to be shipped back to the Bay Area. For that reason, the cameras were taken off the bike, hence no footage of today's run (a move I now regret). If you've ever driven Highway 70 it's simply outstanding; crossing two summits on the way (10,000+ feet and 11,000+ feet).

Here are just a few outtakes from the past week ...

ROYAL GORGE

Between LAKE CITY and GUNNISON

PAGOSA SPRINGS

SILVERTON

MESA VERDE

Dia de los Motos (Day 6) - 280 miles

Day Six is where I break off alone northwards towards final destination of Glenwood Springs.
The Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park is the highlight along the way.

As always, the roads are mind-blowing with stunning colors and another mountain around every bend.

Riding on wet, gravel roads always makes me a little nervous. Taking pause to let traffic behind me pass.

And as always, when other bikers show up, a friendly rally ensues.
